My entry for @sysinacgi’s monthly challenge, Tiny World. I wanted a fantasy garden scene that brought back two of my old OCs: Morel, a timid mushroom sprite who dreams of becoming a guide for lost souls, and the mischievous Fuchsia Fae who always seems to appear wherever flowers bloom.
For this piece, I imagined their first meeting as a little misadventure in a greenhouse. Enclair wakes to a commotion and finds a tiny guest stuck inside one of her glass vials—Morel, who followed the scent of something musky and damp and accidentally fell into the Strays Cafe garden.
This illustration was a chance to explore scale, whimsy, and storytelling through perspective, with the Fuchsia Faes acting like playful sparks around Morel’s timid little introduction to the world.
