Ailing — D&D Monk (DTIYS Challenge Entry)

My entry for the DTIYS challenge hosted by @sleeepydraws on Instagram.
I absolutely loved drawing their character, Ailing! While working on the piece, I spent a lot of time researching traditional Asian conical hats (kasa) to figure out how they sit on the head and how farmers or samurai wore them historically.
Since there was a bit of negative space at the top of the frame where the hat cut off, I decided to load her hat up with fresh summer flowers to emphasize her role as a nature-loving gardener and herbalist out harvesting. I also streamlined her belt layers to make the pouch attachment work visually.
